Privacy Policy
Last updated October 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Basement Powersports Inc., doing business as Spikes Speed Shop ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website, contact us, receive messages, or use our automotive services.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide through website contact forms, appointment requests, phone calls, emails, messages, in-person interactions, and inquiry or lead forms on services such as Google. This may include your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, vehicle identification number, registration information, mileage, service history, repair concerns, photographs, estimates, authorizations, invoices, payment records, and communications with our shop. If you choose text messaging, we also collect your mobile number, messaging preferences, and records of your consent and opt-out requests.
Our website and its service providers may collect technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, referring pages, and interactions with website features. Cookies and similar technologies may be used to operate the website, remember preferences, and understand website use. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; restricting cookies may affect some website features.
How we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries; schedule appointments; inspect, diagnose, repair, restore, modify, and test vehicles as authorized; prepare estimates and invoices; obtain work approvals; order parts; process payments; provide service updates; administer warranty requests; maintain business records; protect against fraud; and meet legal obligations.
If you separately consent to promotional communications, we may use your contact information for those communications within the scope of your consent. Agreeing to repair services or these policies alone does not enroll you in promotional text messaging.
When we share information
We may provide information needed to perform services to providers that support website hosting, shop management, appointment scheduling, messaging, payment processing, accounting, parts ordering, or authorized subcontracted work. These providers may use the information only as needed to provide their services to us and meet applicable legal obligations.
We may disclose relevant information with your direction or authorization, when legally required, to respond to lawful legal process, or as reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and property. We do not sell or rent customer personal information. We do not provide customer information to outside parties for their own marketing.
Mobile information and text messaging consent
Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be sold, rented, transferred, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own messaging or marketing purposes. We may provide limited information to service providers solely to deliver and support our messages, subject to restrictions on their use of that information, or disclose information when required by law.
When you opt in, we may send appointment reminders, estimate and authorization requests, repair or project updates, payment reminders, and pickup notifications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance. You may also call 508-857-5858 or email spikesspeedshopinc@gmail.com. Opting out of texts does not cancel authorized work or payment obligations; we can communicate through another available channel.
Payments and third party services
Payment transactions may be handled by payment processors under their own privacy and security terms. Please do not send full payment card numbers, security codes, or other sensitive financial information through ordinary email or text messages. Links to other websites and services are subject to those providers' policies.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to perform services, maintain repair and financial records, address warranty matters or disputes, document communication preferences, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary according to the record and applicable requirements. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and requests
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to change communication preferences. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond as required by applicable law; certain repair, payment, consent, and legal records may need to be retained. You may use STOP to opt out of texts and any unsubscribe option provided in promotional emails.
Children and policy updates
Our website and messaging program are intended for adults arranging automotive services. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact us. We may update this policy by posting a revised version with a new last-updated date. Material changes will be communicated as required by law; posting a change does not create new messaging consent.

Terms of Service
Last updated October 29, 2026
These terms describe use of the Spikes Speed Shop website, customer messaging, and automotive services provided by Basement Powersports Inc. DBA Spikes Speed Shop. Specific services and prices require a separate estimate, work order, or other valid authorization. Visiting our website does not authorize repairs, charges, or text messages.
Estimates and work authorization
Before work begins, we will identify the authorized services and applicable prices or approved spending limit as required by law. Diagnostic, teardown, inspection, and estimate charges will be disclosed before authorization. You represent that you own the vehicle or have authority to approve the requested work.
Hidden damage, prior modifications, corrosion, worn components, and other unexpected conditions can change the work required. We will obtain your authorization before performing additional repairs or exceeding the authorized price by more than $10, as required by Massachusetts law. An initial estimate is not blanket approval for additional work. Any waiver of advance price approval must meet applicable legal requirements and identify a specific spending limit.
Restorations and projects completed in phases
Restorations, custom builds, fabrication, and performance projects may be divided into separately authorized phases. An estimate for one phase does not establish a price for the entire project unless expressly stated. Authorized work already performed and approved parts commitments may be billed under the agreed payment schedule before the overall project is complete. Estimates for future work do not represent completed work.
Completion periods will be discussed and agreed upon for the authorized work. Changes to the schedule will be communicated, with further customer agreement obtained when required. Parts availability, outside services, and previously unknown vehicle conditions may affect timing. These terms do not excuse delays within our control or remove customer rights.
Parts and shop charges
Parts supplied by the shop are new unless identified otherwise in the estimate or invoice. Shop supplies, environmental charges, outside services, and applicable taxes will be disclosed in the estimate or authorization and itemized on the invoice. Shop supplies may include cleaners, sealants, lubricants, welding gas, abrasives, towels, and disposal services. These terms alone do not authorize an unspecified fee.
You have the right to receive replaced parts at completion. Please tell us before work begins if you want them saved so we can arrange their return. If a part must be returned under a warranty or rebuilding arrangement, you may inspect it instead. Any refundable core charge and conditions for retaining a core will be explained separately.
Deposits and cancellations
Any required deposit and its purpose will be stated before payment. Deposits are applied to authorized work and purchases. If you cancel, we may deduct charges for authorized work performed and documented, nonrecoverable commitments made for your project, including disclosed supplier cancellation or restocking charges, to the extent permitted by law. Any remaining refundable balance will be returned with an accounting. An estimate alone does not authorize a parts purchase.
Special orders and customer supplied parts
Authorized special-order, custom-made, and electrical items may be nonreturnable after ordering or installation when that restriction was disclosed before purchase. This does not remove rights relating to defective, incorrect, or misrepresented goods. Cancellation and return restrictions will be identified with the applicable order.
Customer-supplied or used parts require our approval before purchase or installation. We do not provide a parts warranty on items we did not supply. Any available third-party warranty must be pursued with its provider. Additional diagnosis, removal, reinstallation, or correction caused by defective or incompatible customer-supplied parts requires separate authorization and may involve additional charges. Our responsibility for installation workmanship and applicable legal obligations remains in effect.
Performance work and vehicle testing
Camshaft changes, tuning, supercharging, turbocharging, and other performance modifications may increase stress on existing components and affect reliability, drivability, fuel requirements, emissions compliance, or manufacturer coverage. Recommended compression, leak-down, internal inspection, or supporting upgrades will be explained and separately authorized. Disassembly or additional component replacement is not automatically authorized by these terms.
If you decline recommended inspections or supporting work, we may decline or pause the project. Any agreement acknowledging a specific risk must identify that risk and does not release the shop from responsibility for negligent or improper work or waive nonwaivable rights. Horsepower, elapsed time, or other performance results are not guaranteed unless expressly agreed in writing.
The work authorization may permit road testing, dyno testing, or other operation reasonably necessary for the agreed inspection, diagnosis, repair, or verification. We will obtain express written authorization for other vehicle uses when required. Road operation must comply with registration, insurance, safety, and other applicable requirements. We may decline work that would violate applicable law.
Workmanship and warranty requests
Any express parts or labor warranty, including its duration and coverage, will be provided separately. Manufacturer warranties are subject to their stated terms and applicable law. Contact us promptly if you believe a repair is defective so we can arrange inspection. Stop driving if continued operation may cause damage or create an unsafe condition.
We will promptly remedy, without charge, repairs we performed that do not meet accepted trade standards, as required by Massachusetts law. No provision in these terms excludes nonwaivable warranty rights or excuses negligent or improper work. Preexisting failures and unrelated component failures will be evaluated based on their actual cause.
Payment and personal checks
Unless a different payment schedule is agreed in writing, payment for completed authorized work is due at pickup. Agreed progress payments may be due earlier for phased projects. We provide an itemized invoice for completed work. Payment methods and any lawful, clearly disclosed payment discounts will be communicated before payment.
Personal checks are accepted at the shop's discretion and are subject to a funds-clearing hold. Subject to applicable law, the vehicle will not be released until the check has fully cleared and funds are confirmed. For immediate release, use cash, a verified certified or bank check, or another approved payment method.
Pickup and storage
Please arrange pickup within seven calendar days after we notify you that the vehicle is ready for release and the completion invoice is available. Provided these charges and conditions were disclosed before repair authorization, storage begins on the eighth calendar day after that notice at $21.43 per calendar day, capped at $150 for each seven consecutive chargeable days. Charges continue until pickup, subject to applicable law and any separate written arrangement.
A request for a deposit or progress payment does not by itself start storage charges. Storage during an active restoration, an extended project pause, or a separate storage arrangement requires separately disclosed and agreed conditions. Contact us promptly if you need additional pickup time. We will not charge storage for a pickup delay caused solely by the shop being unable to release the vehicle during an agreed pickup arrangement.
Vehicle care and unpaid charges
Please remove valuables and personal items before leaving your vehicle and tell us about security systems, unusual operating procedures, leaks, or known safety concerns. We will exercise reasonable care while the vehicle is in our custody. We are not an insurer of the vehicle or its contents. Responsibility for loss or damage will be determined under applicable law; these terms do not excuse our negligence or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
The shop reserves any garage keeper's lien rights available under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 255, Section 25, for proper unpaid charges. Any retention, lien enforcement, or sale must follow applicable legal procedures. Nonpayment does not automatically transfer ownership to the shop.
Customer text messaging
Program name: Spikes Speed Shop Customer Updates. When you separately opt in, we may send recurring SMS or MMS messages about appointments, estimates, repair approvals, project progress, invoices, payment reminders, and pickup. Message frequency varies with your service activity. Message and data rates may apply.
Consent to receive text messages is optional and is not a condition of purchase or service. Providing a telephone number or agreeing to these terms alone does not enroll you. Promotional texts require separate consent where required and are not included in this customer-update enrollment.
Reply STOP to unsubscribe. You may receive a final confirmation of your opt-out. Reply HELP for assistance, call 508-857-5858, or email spikesspeedshopinc@gmail.com. Tell us if your mobile number changes or is reassigned. Opting out does not cancel repairs, appointments, or payment obligations. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Do not rely on text messaging for emergencies.
Mobile information and messaging consent are handled as described in our Privacy Policy at https://www.spikesspeedshop.biz/privacy-policy. They are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
Website use and applicable law
Website descriptions and general pricing do not replace a vehicle-specific estimate or guarantee availability. Do not misuse the website, attempt unauthorized access, or submit unlawful material. Third-party websites and services have their own terms. Massachusetts law governs these terms, subject to any other mandatory law that applies. No provision waives rights that cannot legally be waived. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by law. Future updates do not retroactively change an existing authorized work order without agreement.
